This issue has spiraled out of control. It's a total disaster. We've tried anything to fix it, but nothing seems to be effective. At this point, it feels like we're toast. Honestly, I don't know what else to do. This is a mess of epic proportions.

Dreadful Day Ever
It all started with the case of bedhead hair. I couldn't figure it to look decent. As I was getting ready out the door, I trippedon and landed all over the carpet. To make matters worse, I was totally late for a very important appointment.
I sweating. My {boss|mentor|was absolutely furious. I attempted to explain, but it was a hopeless situation.
The rest of the day was just as bad. was a catastrophe. I stay awake.
By the time I reached my destination, I was utterly defeated. This day, this atrocious day will be forever remembered as an epic fail.

It all started out horribly with a simple mishap/incident/screw-up. But then it went from bad to absolutely terrible. A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to throw your hands up.
